Whether you are buying or selling in PebbleCreek, furniture is a big, heavy and expensive issue.  When I was moving here from the East coast, I knew most of my furniture was simply not going to work with the Southwest architecture.   So…   most of it was left behind (the moving truck still weighed 2,000 pounds – not sure what I actually did move!).  Similarly, when folks leave PebbleCreek, they are often downsizing and simply don’t want most of their furniture any more.

So…  there is robust second hand market for furniture here in Phoenix; but if second hand isn’t your thing, there are many retail options and different price points to explore as well.   Scottsdale has Crate and Barrel  and Pottery Barn;  closer to PebbleCreek, right here in the West Valley, we have Living Spaces and Lazy Boy and several other options that are easily findable with a quick internet search.

But if you are interested in some second hand pieces, or want to donate furniture before a move, we have some additional places you can explore.  One of my favorites is My Sister’s Attic (consignment shop); Furniture Affair (distributes model home furnishings) is also a good source of home decor.  More locally, Hope’s Closet sells used furniture and will also pick it up from PebbleCreek.  EJ’s Auction and Consignment is yet another way to clear out a home or furnish one.   Perhaps more well known, there are also several Goodwill stores in easy range of PebbleCreek that specialize in household items.   They don’t sell too much furniture, but you will find unqiue decorative items at The Brass Armadillo – a fun, local place to browse and get inspired.

ManyPebbleCreekers are also active on the PebbleCreek Yahoo Group – a closed group for PebbleCreek residents to communicate and a lively market for both the purchase and sale of household items.

So, one way to reduce moving costs to PebbleCreek is to consider doing at least some of the furniture shopping locally.  And if you are involved in leaving the area, there are many options for you to leave your furniture behind.
